Stroke Awareness Oregon (SAO), a 501(c)(3), exists to make a difference through educating the community on how to recognize stroke, making F.A.S.T. a household safety word, developing resources and support for stroke patients and their families, and increasing awareness about stroke prevention. Stroke treatment and care is seeing advances, but challenges still exist. SAO was created in 2017 by physicians, stroke survivors and community members to serve Bend, Central Oregon and beyond.
